Shawn Cali: OF/RHP, (2023) out of Taunton, MA. is a 5-foot-11, 172-pound two-way prospect. At the plate, Cali recorded an exit velocity of 88 MPH, with a  (64.35 mph bat speed average) and (22.41 mph hand speed average). Cali started in an open, narrow stance with the hands set higher off the back shoulder. A smooth, controlled load and a small leg kick triggered a swing that took a slightly uphill swing path. Cali showed a quick bat and the ability to use the whole field during his rounds. In the outfield, he was up to 82 MPH on his throws to the plate. As he worked through the defensive portion, he showed he had athletic smooth footwork, a loose arm and sure hands. In the 60-yard dash, he recorded a time of 7.5. On the mound, Cali uses a simple delivery. He turns his back to his target but is able to get the shoulders back in line with home plate before heading down the mound. His finish is balanced and over the front leg. The arm works from over the top, producing some tilt on a fastball that sat 78-80 MPH (Max spin 1897; Avg 1879). Cali also mixed in a 12/6 curveball (67-68 MPH) and shows a feel for a changeup (69-70 MPH).

9/26/20

5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and right handed pitcher. He ran a 7.6 sixty at the event. The approach in the outfield is appropriate and he stays through the baseball as he fields it. He threw 79 mph form right field to home plate at the event. The bat has an exit velocity of 88 mph. The setup is even in base and the front foot gains ground to the ball as it approaches the hitting zone. The hands work free and clean, producing a flat swing through the baseball. On the mound, the fastball sat 76-77 mph. The spin pitch 65-66 mph and big in shape. He also displayed a knuckle ball at 66-68 mph. The delivery has crossfire to the feet and the slot is above 3/4in height. The lift is solid in tempo, gather at the top prior to making his way into foot strike. The tracking of the front shoulder needs to be aligned with the catcher. The arm is clean.
