5-foot-9, 185-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder. On the mound, the fastball sat 72-74 mph. The spin pitch was 64-65 mph and big in shape. The changeup is a developing pitch for him. The delivery has crossfire to the feet and the slot is above 3/4 in height. The lift is solid in tempo and he pulls his glove across the face of the hitter adding to deception. The arm is clean. Positionally, he ran a 7.7 sixty at the event. The bat has an exit velocity of 85 mph. The setup is even in base and he uses a toe tap as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path to contact is uphill and the hands work freely.
Exit Velocity- 85 mph
2/29/20
Lewis is a 5-foot-9, 170 pound prospect. The right-handed hitting infielder had an exit velocity of 74 mph off the tee. He hits out of a narrow, square stance, with the hands set just off the back shoulder. He uses a toe tap to initiate his load. The hands push back into a good launch position, before heading into the hitting zone on a flat path. He extends through contact, staying on plane.
Defensively, he was 70 mph across the diamond. The feet are deliberate as he works to get into position to field. He breaks down behind the ball, with the glove out in front. He transitions well through the ground ball and into a strong throwing position. He creates a good line with the target and stays through the play on that same line.
On the mound, Lewis uses a controlled, simple delivery to get himself heading toward home plate. He uses a shorter arm-swing to get some run on a fastball that sat 74-75 mph. His breaking ball shows good, tight spin at 63-66 mph. He also showed the feel for a nice change-up that sat 68-69 mph.
