Karp is a good looking, physical catching prospect. He hits out of a balanced, square stance. The hands are relaxed just off the back shoulder. Karp showed good hands during his round, producing a lot of solid contact. The bat takes a slightly uphill path and his finish is well through contact. Behind the plate, Karp starts in a comfortable stance. The feet are slightly staggered, the chest is square and the glove is relaxed. As he transitions to throw, the ball exchange is quick, creating a short, quick arm swing. The feet are athletic. He gets the hip and shoulder in line with second base. He finishes over the front leg and remains in line. He also had a vertical of 63 cm.
