Kyle Birks: C/OF, (2022) out of East Longmeadow HS, MA is a 6-foot, 145 pound outfield/catching prospect. During the batting practice Birks had an exit velocity of 82 MPH. He hits out of a wide, open stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. He loads well to the back side and gets into a good position to hit. As the swing starts the bat works through the hitting zone on an uphill path. He finishes through contact and remains balanced. In the outfield, Birks was 78 MPH on his throws. As he worked through the ground balls he showed good feet, a clean transfer and a loose arm. Behind the plate, he was 74 MPH on his throws. He starts on his knee, with the glove set in the middle of the chest. As he transitions to throw, the feet move well, the transfer is clean and he uses a short arm swing.
