Matthew Gale Jr: OF/LHP, (2027) Shepherd Hill Regional High, MA. 5-foot-10, 135-pound slim frame. Capable during batting practice, the hitter had a max exit velocity of 75 mph. Begins in an open narrow stance with a long load, then uses a closed small stride. Bat speed was developing, and used a long swing plane. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Capable in the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 77 mph; had developing hands, developing footwork, and a natural exchange. Fielded the ball out front with developing movement laterally. Showed a high ¾ slot and consistent accuracy to the bag. Capable on the mound, showing developing arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle with a consistent arm action. Feel type pitcher and showed some effort. Balance point is tall with in line shoulders during delivery. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 70-71 mph; shows running action and sporadic command. (Max spin 1903; Avg 1825). Had glove side command and slurvey action on his curveball (63-64). (Max spin 1742; Avg 1668). Shows slurvey action and glove side control on his cutter (65-66).
