Maryland Summer Trials
Body: 6’1”, 145 pounds. Athletic, lanky, projectable frame.
Delivery: Up-tempo side-step wind-up and leg kick to a quick, tall balance position. Smooth, long kick-out stride down the mound with clean hand separation. Hides the ball some and lands closed to the plate. Does a really nice job of getting over his front side and finishes in a strong, athletic position. Creates some arm-speed through release working downhill.
Arm Action: RH. Throws with long, free arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Recoils arm after finish.
FB: T77 mph, 74-77 mph. Occasional arm-side run with an average spin rate of 1893 rpm.
CB: 66-70 mph. Showed tight 11/5 and some 10/4 shape at times with an average spin rate of 1701 rpm.
CH: 65-66 mph. Average spin rate of 1380 rpm.
MD Fall Invitational 11.3.18
Athletic, lanky body type and 6-foot, 130 pound frame. Starts off-set to home plate. Up-tempo rhythm in wind-up with a high leg kick into a tall balance point. Clean hand separation and uphill shoulder tilt. Down to out lower half drive and smooth delivery. Long, loose arm action creating quick arm speed through release. Throws from a high three-quarter near over the top slot with easy effort. Showed good command of the fastball that sat 72-75 mph and touched 76 mph with some arm side run. Change-up was 65-69 mph with slight fade and breaking ball showed gradual 11/5 break at 65-67 mph. Threw a few breaking balls with sharper bite.
MD Future Games Trials 6.27.18
Long, lanky body type and 6-foot, 130 pound frame. Small side-step wind-up and slight rock up into a tall balance point. Smooth, controlled down to out lower half drive. Long, loose arm action throwing from over the top with regular effort. Creates some arm speed through release and lands square with a slight recoil finish. Velocity will jump as he learns to get back side through to finish. Showed great feel for three pitches and threw a ton of strikes. Fastball was 71-72 mph. Breaking ball was 63-64 mph with late 12/6 and 11/5 break. Change-up was 66-70 mph with plus fade.
