Maryland Preseason All-State Session I

Body: 5’10’’, 160 pounds. Lean, athletic frame with feel for his body in all phases. 
Hit: RHH. Compact, crouched stance from an even setup as the hands showed rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a leg lift stride in order to initiate the barrel through a flat path into the hitting zone towards a high finish. Good connection in the box and matched the plane of the pitch early in ball flight (73% on-plane efficiency via Blast Motion). Drove the ball hard through the middle, LCF side of the yard notching a 36% line drive rate during his round. 
Power: 85 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Developing ability to hit for XBH, uses a lot of intent but shows the most success when being smooth and letting the barrel get out towards the front of the plate. 
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. Quick arm circle with minimal restrictions from a high three-quarter slot, accurate across the diamond. 
Defense: Approached on time with good body momentum and down chest angles at the fielding window, displayed the glove hand early with a smooth funnel inwards, good pace across the diamond and took every rep at near game speed. 
Run: 7.63 60-yard time.


Maryland Western Trials

Body: 5’10’’, 160 pounds. Athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a slightly open stance with rhythm and weight slightly shifted on back side. Creates good hand separation and works direct to the ball with quick hands and bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball really well with excellent balance throughout the swing. Strong lower half involvement, extension and two-handed finish. Barreled a bunch of balls during BP working gap-to-gap. 
Power: 84 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Strength present in the swing and power to the alleys with more projected. 
Arm: RH. INF - 76 mph. Throws with long arm action from a mid three-quarter slot. Showed the ability to throw from multiple angles depending on the type of platy. 
Defense: Works through the ball in the infield and moves well side-to-side. Fields the ball closer into his body and funnels quickly to the chest. 
Run: 7.67 60-yard time.


Maryland Top Prospect Games West

Body: 5’10’’, 160 pounds. Athletic body type. 
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, square stance at the plate. Slight hand rhythm with a smooth back load and some hand separation. Quick hands through the zone with some bat speed. Stays behind the ball well with solid balance throughout the swing. Strong lower half involvement with excellent extension through the zone. Strong two-handed finish with a solid gap-to-gap approach. 
Power: 83 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Present pop to the gaps and alleys with more projected. 
Arm: RH. INF - 76 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a mi to high three-quarter slot. 
Defense: Works through the ball well with active feet and moves well laterally. Fields the ball closer into his body and funnels to the chest, with quick, clean exchanges.  
Run: 7.86 60-yard time.


MD Top Prospect Games II

Athletic body type and 5’10’’, 160 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, slightly closed stance at the plate. Showed rhythm with hands and a medium sized leg kick load. Good hand separation and short to the ball with a slightly uphill swing path. Quick hands and quick bat speed through the hitting zone. Stays behind the ball well and generates some lower half involvement. Gets good extension through contact and showed a strong finish. Gap-to-gap type hitter with some present power to the pull-side. Recorded an 80 mph exit velocity. Moves well in the infield and showed range. Attacks the ball and works through it well. Fields the ball out in front and funnels to chest. Throws with longer arm action from a low three-quarter slot at 74 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.65 60-yard time.


Mid-Atlantic Summer Championships

Weiss stands 5-foot-10, 150-pounds with a solid athletic frame. Repeatable leg lift, shoulders level, and lands on line moving down the mound. Arm circle is longer and throws from a three-quarter arm slot, falling slightly towards first base side. Fastball was 72-74 and had was downhill at times. Breaking ball sat 63-64 mph with 11/5 shape and showed some feel for the pitch. At the plate, he hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, short leg kick stride on line, short smooth load back, hips rotate with some violence, good lower half balance. Short to ball and stays inside it, works slightly uphill through contact, has some gap power potential.
