Maryland Top Prospect Games West
Body: 6’4’’, 270 pounds. Big, solid body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a tall, balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Short, quick load and small stride. Clears front side early and stays short to the ball with quick bat speed through the zone. Uphill swing path with some lower half involvement and extension past contact. Long one-handed finish. Rotational type swing.
Power: 93 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Strength present in the swing with pop to the pull-side evident.
Arm: RH. INF - 80 mph. Throws with short arm action from a mid to high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Fields the ball in the center of his body funneling quickly to the belt from a more spread base. Showed quick, clean exchanges and fundamental footwork on double play feeds to second base.
Run: 8.23 60-yard time.
Delivery: Pitches from the stretch with a high leg kick into a slightly crouched, compact balance position. Loads weight on back side with some uphill shoulder tilt. Clean hand separation, and smooth, controlled stride down the mound. Gets over the front side with extension and lands in-line with the plate with a full follow through and athletic, square finish.
Arm Action: RH. Throws with long arm action from a mid three-quarter slot with easy effort.
FB: T82 mph, 80-81 mph. Average spin rate of 2128 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 65-67 mph. Showed big, sharp 11/5 shape with an average spin rate of 1695 rpm per TrackMan.
