Maryland Preseason All-State Session I

Body: 6’1’’, 235 pounds. Strong, XL frame with present power in all of the movements.
Hit: RHH. Wide, even stance from a slight bent knee position, as the hands waved quickly near head-height. Utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate the bat head through a flat, horizontal path with lift after impact. Hit into a stiff front side with jump off the barrel to the pull-side (mostly middle of the field approach). Generated solid hand speed from a short swing with twitch at the plate evidenced by a 24.4 mph average hand speed (Blast Motion). A 68% on-plane efficiency points towards developing bat to ball skills which make him an even tougher out at the plate. Liked the actions overall with ability to project to hit for even more power down the road.
Power: 92 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power at the moment with a 329 foot peak batted ball distance. Handled the pull-side gap with comfortability during BP.
Arm: RH. INF - 72 mph. High ¾ slot with time on the takeaway, full arm circle. Accuracy across the diamond.
Defense: Arrived on time from a wide base with a soft glove hand funneling from out in front of the toes inward towards the chest. Moved well to the glove hand side with low lateral movements; adequate feel around the bag at first.
Run: 8.21 60-yard time.

Maryland Top Prospect Games West

Body: 6’0’’, 250 pounds. Big, strong, athletic body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched, square stance at the plate. Quick, smooth back load with a short, quicker stride. Solid hand separation with quick twitch and slight hand wiggle. Quick hands and fast bat speed with solid extension through the zone and past contact. Stays behind the ball well with solid lower half involvement. Strong one handed finish with a slight uphill swing path. Consistent loud contact, barreling balls up into the gaps and alleys with ease.
Power: 95 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Present gap-to-gap pop with more developing.
Arm: RH. INF - 73 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Surrounds the ball well with active feet. Fields the ball out in front, funneling to the belt with clean exchanges. Some range side to side.
Run: 8.04 60-yard time.
