Maryland Top Prospect Games West
Body: 5’11’’, 175 pounds. Strong, athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly open, upright stance at the plate. Stays behind the ball well with hands pre-set at the top of the hitting zone. Smooth back load with some hand separation and whippy barrel action. Short stride with some lower half involvement and quick hands through the zone. Middle of the field, line drive approach with some pull side pop present. Swings with a more level swing path with a strong two-handed finish.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. gap-to-gap pop present
Arm: LH. OF - 76 mph. Throws with longer arm action from an over the top slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball well with a controlled approach. Fields the ball to the outside of the foot with momentum towards the plate. Consistent clean exchanges with active footwork. Throws were on line and showed some carry.
Run: 7.64 60-yard time.
Delivery: Controlled side-step wind-up and leg kick to a tall balance position with hands set at head height. Drop and drive style delivery with a long stride down the mound. Lands open to the plate and gets over the front side with extension and a full follow through. Has a tendency to finish falling off to the third base side at times.
Arm Action: LH. Throws with a full arm circle from a mid to high three-quarter slot with easy effort. Creates quick arm speed through release.
FB: T82 mph, 80-82 mph. Average spin rate of 1828 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 68-70 mph. Showed shorter 1/7 shape with an average spin rate of 1905 rpm per TrackMan.
CH: 74-75 mph.
