Preseason All-State Session II
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5’9”, 150 pounds. Athletic, projectable frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with a small front leg kick. Creates some hand separation. Quiet, loose swing with a slightly uphill path. Short to the ball with quick hands and bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with some lower half involvement. Gets nice extension through contact and finishes with two hands. Maintains excellent balance throughout the swing and worked mostly middle to the pull side during BP.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Gap-to-gap pop with much more projected.
Arm: RH. C - 78 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: 2.12 - 2.22 pop times. Quick, clean exchanges behind the dish gaining ground on throws to second base. Ball showed carry and throws were accurate around the bag. Quiet receiving and sticks the ball well.
Run: 4.45 home-to-first time.
Delivery: Starts with a quick, rocker step into a closed off chest high leg kick. Generates good rhythm and timing with his delivery. Shows solid extension, getting his chest out over his landing leg well. Arm plays well with his delivery, creating some deception. Lands in athletic fielding position.
Arm Action: RH. Throws out of a high three-quarter arm slot.
FB: T82 mph, 80-82 mph. Subtle arm-side run
CB: 62-64 mph. Loopy 11/5 action.
CH: 67-70 mph. Subtle movement and action.
MD Top Prospect Games II
Long, athletic body type and 5’9’’, 145 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, open stance at the plate. Smooth, controlled back load and small leg kick creating some hand separation. Stays short to the ball with a slightly uphill swing path, quick hands, and quick bat speed. Stays behind the ball well with strong lower half involvement and showed good balance throughout the swing. Swing has some effortlessness to it. Gap-to-gap type hitter with pop. Recorded a 78 mph exit velocity. Gains ground on throws to second with quick footwork and clean exchanges. Squares shoulder to target and throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 76 mph. Throws showed some carry and accuracy. Pop times ranged 2.00 - 2.19. Ran a 7.35 60-yard time.
