MD MoCo Fall Review
Long, athletic, lean body type and projectable 6’4’’, 175 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, square stance at the plate with rhythm. Medium sized leg kick load with hand pre-set back. Attacks the ball with intent and generates some lower half involvement. Short to the ball with a more level swing path. Has a tendency to get it slightly up-hill at times. Creates quick bat speed through the hitting zone and does a nice job with hands. Gets good extension past contact and showed nice balance throughout the swing finishing mostly with two-hands. Worked middle to pull-side squaring up several lines drives and showed power as well. Recorded a 75 mph exit velocity. Plays through the ball in the outfield with a quick crop-hop during exchange. Throws with shorter arm action from a mid three-quarter slot at 77 mph. Ran a 7.44 60-yard time. Pitches from the stretch with a quick, high leg kick into a tall balance point with hands set high at head level. Smooth downhill stride with some lower half drive. Lands slightly closed to the plate with excellent extension and a slightly upright finish. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot with easy effort. Creates quick arm speed through release. Fastball sat 74-75 mph and touched 76 mph. Breaking ball was 60-64 mph with 11/5 shape and change-up ranged 63-67 mph.
