Maryland Preseason All-State Session II
Body: 5’10’’, 160 pounds. Lean, athletic frame with room to add strength to his game.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, even stance at a mostly upright position, the hands started with a slight 45 over the head to begin. Utilized a leg lift stride with a slight bow and arrow load to the shoulder. Entered the hitting zone through a flat, middle of the field approach with a feel for the hands at the plate. Recorded some loft during BP while accruing a 57% fly ball rate via Trackman Baseball (267 foot peak batted ball distance). Commanded the inner half with consistent hand speed (21.3 mph average per Blast Motion) and showed quality bat to ball skills offensively (70% on-plane).
Power: 89 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Developing doubles power with a table setter profile.
Arm: RH. OF - 79 mph. Quick, high ¾ slot with accuracy.
Defense: Stayed behind the ball on the approach with a soft glove hand leading the way, projects a stay in LF or possible move to CF once the feet become a little more aggressive. The posture worked, fielding out in front with slight down chest angles; utilized a couple gather shuffles towards the target.
Run: 7.14 60-yard time.
Maryland Top Prospect Games West
Body: 5’9’’, 159 pounds. Athletic body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched, square stance at the plate. Smooth back load with some hand separation. Quick hands through the zone with solid extension past contact. Strong lower half involvement with a solid gap-to-gap line drive approach. Worked the middle of the field during BP.
Power: 80 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP.
Arm: LH. OF - 79 mph. INF - 71 mph. Throws with longer arm action from an over the top arm slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball well, fielding in the middle of the body with a big crow hop. Consistent clean exchanges with strong, accurate throws that showed carry.
Run: 7.11 60-yard time.
5-foot-8, 150-pound compact athletic frame. Athletic open stance from the right side. Hands set high and forward, small pick up and put down to stride, and hands make minimal load back. Hands are short to the ball, bat path is level, and lower half finishes completely. Exit velocity was 82 mph. Feet are active on approach, glove presents out front, and solid posture on approach. Full arm circle from a three-quarter arm slot and posted a 77 mph positional velocity. 60 time was 7.12.
MD Top Prospect Games II
Athletic body type and 5’8’’, 145 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square stance at the plate. Rock-back load with some hand separation. Short to the ball with a slightly longer, level swing path. Quick hands and bat speed through the zone. Generates some lower half involvement in swing and gets good extension past contact with a two-handed finish. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter with occasional pop. Recorded a 78 mph exit velocity. Plays through the ball in the outfield with fundamental footwork and a quick crow-hop. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 74 mph. Ran a 7.19 60-yard time.
