Maryland Preseason Preview
Body: 5’11”, 230 pounds. Strong, physical, muscular build.
Delivery: Controlled side-step wind-up with a high leg kick into a compact balance position with a quarter body turn. Smooth kick-out stride down the mound with some lower half drive off the rubber. Lands in-line to the plate with a more upright finish. Creates really quick arm speed through release on the fastball. Arm speed slows a touch on off-speed offerings. Showed feel for the zone and ability to locate the fastball and change-up to both sides of the plate.
Arm Action: RH. Throws with short arm action from a mid three-quarter slot with fairly easy effort.
FB: T82 mph, 80-82 mph. Natural arm-side run present with an average spin rate of 2140 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 66-68 mph. Sharp with big 11/5 shape and an average spin rate of 2243 rpm per TrackMan.
CH: 70-74 mph. Showed late fade.
