Maryland Preseason All-State Session I

Body: 6’1’’, 207 pounds. Strong, solid, athletic body type. 
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, narrow, slightly open stance at the plate with hands pre-set above the head. Smooth back load with some hand separation and a bigger kick out stride. Attacks the ball with intent, keeping his hands inside well with solid balance throughout. Quick hands and fast bat speed through contact. Ball explodes off the bat with strong lower half involvement and solid extension through contact. Finished high with two hands. Strong gap-to-gap approach. 
Power: 93 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Present pop to the pull side with doubles power to both gaps and alleys. 
Arm: RH. C - 70 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot. 
Defense: Pop times ranged 2.08-2.21. Replaces feet well with quick, clean exchanges. Throws showed some carry with accuracy to the bag. 
Run: 7.79 60-yard time.

Delivery: Started from the stretch only off of the left side of the rubber; the left foot started slightly offset to the open side; utilized a medium-high leg lift and repeatable move down the rubber. 
Arm Action: RH. High ¾ slot with a medium, short arm circle on the way through.
FB: T80 mph, 75-78 mph. Average spin rate of 1998 rpm. Low IVB numbers paired with the spin point to better action down in the zone where he will miss under barrels. 
CB: 67-70 mph. Average spin rate of 2035 rpm. Sharp 11/5 action diving across the plate late in the ball flight. Feel for the release out in front, possible strikeout pitch moving forward. 
CH: 74-75 mph.

Body: 6’1’’, 175 pounds. Strong, athletic body type. 
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, crouched, open stance at the plate. Hands start above the hitting zone and drop considerably before contact. Smooth back load with solid hand separation and a high leg kick. An elongated stride with good front to back weight transfer. Creates solid extension through the zone with quick hands and some lower half involvement. Hands finish high with two hands and a slight uphill swing path through the hitting zone. Worked the middle of the field with a gap-to-gap approach during his BP rounds. 
Power: 87 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Some pop present to the gaps and alleys. 
Arm: RH. C - 71 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot. 
Defense: Pop times ranged 2.07 - 2.28. Quick jab step and gets out of the crouch quickly. Replaces feet well with quick, clean exchanges and accurate throws to the bag. 
Run: 7.47 60-yard time.

Athletic frame at 6-foot, 160-pounds with projection left to it. Athletic stance at the plate starting square and slightly narrow. Hands set high with some separation from body. Leg kick and stride out landing on line. Bat gets on plane early, uphill tilt to the path, and showed an uphill two hand finish. Exit velocity was 78 mph. Fields in front of glove foot, high clean exchange, and high hand break leading to a short arm action. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a positional velocity of 75 mph. Behind the plate feet were active and short. Used a quick jab step and replaced feet well getting ball out with a quick exchange and release. Throws with a short arm action from a high three-quarter arm slot. Pop velocity was 69 mph and times ranged from 2.07-2.41. Ran a 7.25 60. Slower paced delivery from the windup. Side step rocker, repeatable waist high lift, hips and shoulders level, and lands on line. High hand break, short arm action, and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball worked to both sides of the plate at 72-75 mph and showed ability to consistently throw it for strikes. Two seam flashed some arm side run. Breaking ball was 57-60 mph with 11/5 shape. Changeup sat at 63-64 mph.

MD MoCo Fall Review 

Athletic body type and projectable 6’0’’, 160 pound frame. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched, and slightly open stance at the plate. Small leg kick load and creates good hand separation. Short and direct to the ball with a more level swing path. Has a tendency to get longer at times. Creates quick bat speed through the zone and showed some lower half involvement. Gets good extension past contact and finishes swing strong with two hands. Stays behind the ball well and does a nice job of keeping balance throughout the swing. Gap-to-gap type hitter and showed power to the pull side. Replaces feet quick on throws behind the plate and showed a quick exchange. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 68 mph. Pop times ranged 1.99 - 2.03. Ran a 7.01 60-yard time. Controlled side-step wind-up and high leg kick into a tall balance point with hands set at head level. Strong down-to-out lower half drive off the rubber. Clean hand separation landing square to the plate with an athletic finish. Creates quick arm speed through release with good extension. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot with some effort. Fastball sat 73-76 mph and touched 77 mph. Breaking ball was 62-65 mph with tight 11/5 shape and change-up ranged 66-69 mph.
