Maryland Preseason All-State Session II
Body: 6’3’’, 250 pounds. Very strong, XL, imposing frame with physicality exuding.
Hit: RHH. Narrow, open stance with the barrel resting on the shoulder to begin; utilized a toe tap stride while staying connected through a flat path at launch. Demonstrated the ability to stay behind the baseball recording a 27% fly ball rate via Trackman Baseball. Hit on top of the ball on this date; worked his way up to a 67% on plane efficiency pointing towards solid bat to ball skills already present in the approach. Mostly pull-side approach and liked to get the hands going early in the swing.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Developing doubles power, really packed a punch when squaring it up.
Arm: RH. INF - 69 mph. Short, high ¾ slot across the diamond.
Defense: Average feel around the bag with quality, short lateral movements on the approach; stayed relatively moderate in the posture with his chest getting slightly downhill at times before fielding, semi-soft glove hand played out in front off the middle of his body.
Run: 8.27 60-yard time.
