Ryan Arends: SS/RHP, (2024) Hudsonville, MI. 5-foot-10, 162-pound. (71.1 mph bat speed average). (20.8 mph hand speed average). Began in an athletic quiet stance with a controlled active load, then used a small leg kick. Has above average bat speed, upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found a few barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Capable projectable in the infield, displayed a velocity of 81 mph; has a clean natural exchange, consistent developing hands, and choppy in control feet. Laterally, movements were average and fielded the ball out front. Athletic capable on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a quick loose arm action and an over-the-top high ¾ arm angle. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses high effort. Showed athletic consistent balance point and even shoulders. Lands closed and square with an athletic recoil finish. (Max spin 2182; Avg 2107).
