8/17/14 – Bornhop is an athletic 5-foot-10, 175-pound switch hitting catcher/utility player. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.30 from the left side and 4.51 from the right side. Cole throws from a high ¾ arm slot and has short arm action. His throws were accurate and had great life. His position velo was 74 MPH from catcher. Bornhop had a POP range of 1.96-2.06. At the plate, Bornhop has an athletic, balanced setup with a smooth load and long stride. He explodes with his lower half and keeps a level bat path. Cole produces gap-to-gap line drives and has power from both sides. He had an exit velo of 85 MPH from the left side and 88 MPH from the right side. During the game, he reached base on an infield single and threw out a runner.
