8/8/18
6-foot-3, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher, entered the event with a sore arm. Ran a 4.9 down the line on his dig to first base Threw 75 mph from behind the dish to second base. The throwing is simple, and the slot is ideal. The pop time is 2.09, the feet can improve as he progresses. Shows the ability to receiving softly and block appropriately. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 78 mph. The setup is even with his feet and the hands are relaxed. He does have length to the swing but it is under control and flat through the zone. Uses a 1-handed finish after contact.

6/29/16

Big and long right-handed hitting catcher with plus arm strength. Pop time of 2.02 as he is still growing and fitting into his movements. The receiving needs to soften with more catching and work on a pitching machine. Threw 77 mph down to second base. Ran a 4.48 as he is a good athlete. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 82 mph. The swing is under control on the bottom half is positioning of the feet is solid. The feet are even with a high elbow start. The path is long to the ball as he needs to get his hands inside more and shorten the knob to the ball. Big and good looking prospect for me.

3/12/16

Right-handed hitting catcher showed well for himself in Concord. The arm strength comes from a high slot, threw 74 mph from behind the dish. Pop time of 2.18, with room for improvement. The slot if high and he juggles the ball after glove to hand transfer. Cleaning up the footwork will help as well, just needs reps and innings back there. The bat had a tee exit velocity of 80 mph, and could improve with physical strength. The bat has life to it and the setup is even with a high elbow start. The bat path is long and he needs strength to the swing. Quickening the bat would help him develop, strength and being more direct with barrel will aid his development.
