9/25/16
Worked out on the bump and behind the dish at the event. He continues to get better every time we see him. On the mound, pitches out of a higher than ¾ arm slot, with a quick arm. The slot is higher than it should be, cause the front side pulls down the shoulder tracking is off target. The lift is athletic and the arm is quick, just needs better direction and control of his front side. The fastball was 74-75 mph and true. The breaking ball is big, as he slows his hand down as he makes his way to home, sitting at 59 mph. The changeup is a work in progress, sitting at 62 mph. As a positional player, ran a 4.63 down the line on a dig to first base. Behind the plate, threw 79 mph with a pop time of 1.99. The transfer is continuing to improve as the throwing slot is shortening and the feet are quickening. The receiving needs to continue to soften with practice. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 83 mph as the frame needs strength. Sets up with wide feet and relaxed hands. The path is clean and flat to the ball. Needs to stay on the ball as he pulls off prior to contact. Frame needs strength. Good athlete to follow.

6/23/16

Right-handed hitting catcher who is developing very nicely behind the dish. Had a pop time of 1.98 and he continues to improve each time I see him. The arm has a clean path to it and his throws are accurate. The footwork can continue to improve, along with his arm strength, as long toss will help. Threw 77 from behind the dish with ease and carry. Ran a 4.82 on a dig, as his foot speed needs to improve. The bat has life to it, tee exit velocity of 86 mph. Hits out of a wide setup and even hands. The path is clean and free, physical strength will do a great deal for this guy as he shows signs of being a legit prospect with maturation. He can catch, throw and swings the bat. Like his game, and looking forward to watching him progress. Pitched as well, is a right-hander. Showed a clean quick arm after catching entire day. Fastball was 76-78 mph, should have more in there if he didn't catch all day. The delivery was easy had some coil to the leg raise arm worked out of a natural ¾ slot. Frontside was strong and direction was inline. The curveball has good spin, was only thrown at 55-58 mph. The changeup was clocked at 62-66 mph, had some fade, slowed down at times with it.

3/12/16

Right-handed hitting catcher who showed athletic movements behind the dish. The transfer needs strength to it, the ball is loose in his hand during glove to hand transfer. Clean that up, work on the footwork and he will be able to quicken up his times and velocity. The pop time 2.3 and he threw 71 mph from behind the dish. At the plate, he sets up with a wide base and even hands. Shows hand speed and the path is flat to the ball. He leaks to the front foot as the ball approaches, controlling his head will help that. The tee exit velocity of 83 mph, and with more strength he should be a formidable bat.
