One of the top uncommitted 2018 players in NJ. Degen has a tall, lanky build at 6-foot-6. Sat 87-88 and touching 89 multiple times from a high-3/4 slot. Breaking ball had smaller 11/5 break at 71-74 and he also flashed a 78 mph changeup. Slower tempo to start delivery, athletic balance point. Tall finish on front leg, can get more out of legs as he continues to grow into body. Repeatable slot, long and loose arm action. Falls off to first base side of rubber, especially on breaking ball - which causes him to miss high armside. High ceiling prospect with a lot to like.
