4/23/16 - Troost stands at 5-foot-9 165-pounds, and was one of the best athletes on the field on this day. The UNC-Asheville commit had a multi-hit game against one of the top pitchers in the country in Tyler Mondile, and barreled up a hard-hit line drive double over the right fielder’s head. The shortstop swings it lefty and seemed to be “on” every single pitch Mondile was throwing. After a performance like this one on a big stage, the #3 batter in the Hermits’ order should be one to watch for the rest of the year, especially come tournament time. Utilizes a small toe tap for a loading mechanism, Troost gets to a full load then aggressively rotates his hips through the zone, keeping his hands inside the baseball as they follow the hips.
