6/10/15 -- Lamanna played 2B in last night’s event and throughout the high school season but he is an above average catcher by trade. He is a complete gamer who makes a ton of solid contact and continuously puts the barrel on the ball. He hits with an athletic, balanced stance and stays balanced throughout his load and stride. He has present bat speed with more to come with added strength. He is quick and short to the ball and has a short, compact swing that translates well in-game. He can do a little bit of everything on the field and that versatility makes him highly intriguing. Despite his versatility, it should be known that LaManna is a well-above average catch-and-throw catcher popping between 1.80 and 1.90 in showcases.
3/15/16 - LaManna spent much of 2015 for Bergen Catholic in the infield (Rhode Island commit, Sonny Uliana, caught), but that did not affect his bat. He is a gap-to-gap hitter with good feel for the strike zone. He has a good base, and his athleticism is showcased by being able to roam the infield for the Crusaders when not behind the dish. He shined on the summer-circuit in 2015, anchoring the 16U Tri-State Arsenal from behind the plate while earning rave reviews for his defense. A good catch-and-throw guy, LaManna showed consistent pop times between 1.8-1.9 all summer. He has a good frame, and is a target that pitchers like throwing to.
