Hoverter stands at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Possesses a lean and athletic build. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.56 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 84 MPH. Starts at the plate in a tall and open stance. Hands begin at shoulder height. Creates pre-swing rhythm. Big leg kick, on time. Hands move down and back pre-pitch. Smooth weight transfer, fluid load. Is in an athletic position at foot-strike. Balance throughout. One-handed finish. Defensively, took reps in the infield. Recorded a positional velo of 78 MPH. Gets around the ball. Brings the ball to his midsection and transfers it there. Gathers himself with a glove tap and makes accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot.
Preseason All State Showcase (February 10th, 2018)
Hoverter has an athletic build at 5-foot-11 160-pounds. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH. At the plate – Hoverter starts in a slightly opened stance with hands in line with back shoulder. Uses a leg kick to start swing, hands load straight back in the load process with the bat wrapping around his head slightly just before front foot touches the ground. Short stroke through the zone with uphill finish. Finishes on bat foot to creates some lift to swing. More power to come as he continues to improve strength. Defensively – Took reps with the middle INFs at SS. Throws topped at 77 MPH. Short, slingshot type arm action from a lower-3/4 slot. Throws had some armside run on but were on the bag.
Futures Preview North ( June 3, 2017)
Athletic build at 5-foot-9, 150-pounds. Shows his versatility as a shortstop/ second baseman. In the field, he had fluid foot work, and average hands. The transition to throwing was slow but the ball had carry to first base. His infield velocity was 72 MPH. During his 60-yard dash he ran a 7.78. At the plate Hoverter batted with a open stance which lead to a large leg kick. He showed the ability to go to opposite fields while batting with a slappy swing. His exit velocity was 78MPH. Off the mound he had a fluid delivery with a long arm action. He was 74-75 MPH, topping at 75 MPH with his fastball. Curveball had slurvy movement at 64-68 MPH.
