Von Horn has a broad shouldered build at 6-foot 195-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.46 seconds and measured an exit velocity of 75 MPH. At the plate- starts in a narrow stance with hands above back shoulder. Uses a small leg lift and stride to start swing. Hands load down and back. Drifts on to front foot, more of a front-foot type hitter. Finishes tall with stiff front leg. Defensively- took reps from the outfield. Throws to home topped at 80 MPH from a true-3/4 slot. Long, loose arm action, throws had some armside fade to the target. Pitching – fastball topped at 83 MPH and sat mostly 78-80 for most of his outing. Flashed a breaking ball at 63-64 MPH. Long, loose arm action – slight pause in arm stroke at the top before he goes down the mound for release. Lands closed with front foot angled toward the third base side of home plate. Fastball had showed some late life and armside run and sink from a true-3/4 slot.
