Romond stands 5-foot-10, 150 pounds with an athletic frame with room to fill out. Romond swings from the left side and starts with a tall open stance with the bat resting on his left shoulder to start then creates rhythm with hands to begin the load process. Uses a foot lift and stride while loading his hands up by his left ear. Swing is slightly up hill while compact with extension through the zone. Finishes with a tall 2 hand follow through. Projects as a potential gap-to-gap hitter. Defensively Romond took reps at 3B and recorded a velocity of 73 MPH. Romond works to the ball in line to 1st base with a left heel strike as the ball enters glove. Ball funneled off the right hip and uses choppy feet to work to target. Uses a high ¾ slot. Off the mound Romond’s feet start parallel to the rubber. Upon leg lift,slghtly closes front side and utilizes a drop drive with uphill shoulders to deliver from a high ¾ slot. FB topped at 75 MPH while sitting at 74-75 MPH. Breaking ball showed 11/7 shape at 64-65 MPH. Change-up showed arm side fade and run at 66-67 MPH. Finished square.
