Strong, physical frame at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.09 seconds with an exit velo of 96 MPH, one of the tops at the event. Open stance with both of his elbows starting high. Toe tap stride, gets wide and athletic. Aggressive lower half, clears his hips. Impressively strong through the zone, easy gap-to-gap power. Stays on his backside. Top velo of 77 MPH on throws from first base. Works low and athletic to the ball, quick turns.
Hughes stands at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds. Has a real strong and physical build. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.00 seconds, with a top exit velo of 89 MPH. The righty begins in an even stance with his hands above his shoulder. Two part stride, using a toe tap. Hands stay locked in position throughout. Brings his bat angle upwards during his load. Clears his hips through the zone. Extends his hands, was able to create strong contact to all fields. Recorded a top positional velo of 69 MPH in the infield. Appropriate footwork around the ball. Glove tap and shuffle before throws. Long arm action.
