New Jersey Games (July 23, 2016)
DeSalvo is a physically built 5-foot-11 180-pound catcher. Ran a 7.25 60. Swing is short and compact. Lower body is quiet in the box. Stands in a wide stance. Weight transfer produces a small foot lift. Bat starts almost vertical, but as load is started, it flattens out and wraps slightly behind his head. Line drive type hitter. Exit Velo 83.
Defensively -
Showed plus receiving skills for his age. Transfer was clean, needs some cleaning up with footwork. Pop times between 2.09-2.22, can be brought down with improved feet. Needs to finish toward second base on throws rather than recoiling. Throws to second registered at 75 mph.

Winter Trials South (January 30, 2016)
Jack is a well put together and athletic 5-foot-11 190 pounds. He ran a 4.26 home-to-1B. Offensively- Jack sets up with an even stance with his feet just outside his shoulders and a head height hand position with an upright bat angle. Minimal timing mechanisms as he rocks his hands back and takes a short stride. Explodes with lower half, dropping barrel into the zone with a an extended and elevated finish. Line drive/flyball results with some lift to his pull side. Exit velocity was at 86 MPH. Defensively- Jack is a skilled defender who does a nice job of sticking pitches. Stays low to the ground with his setup and and has a quick exchange on his footwork. Would like to see less of a delay between receiving and transfer to throwing hand. It's the only gap here and when adjusted should get him down to 2.00. Arm was accurate and throws were online with good carry. Pop times ranged between 2.06-2.15 with a peak velocity of 73 MPH.
