2019 Preseason All State Showcase

Howlett has a physical and broad-shouldered frame at 6-foot, 215-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 8.74 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 78 MPH. The left handed hitter starts in a balanced stance with his knees slightly bent. Hands begin around shoulder height, away from the body. Elbow stays parallel to the ground. Impressed during his round with a lot of hard contact the other way. Took defensive reps behind the plate. Stays in line with his target. Makes his transfer around midsection height. Throws consistently on target. Top velo on throws was 69 MPH and he recorded pop times ranging from 2.20-2.28 seconds.

Howlett possesses a strong and physical frame at 6-foot, 205-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 9.05 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 71 MPH. At the plate starts in a tall and even stance. Hands are just above shoulder height, away from the body. Creates pre-pitch rhythm. Hands move slightly backwards during his load. Moves his elbow to become parallel to the ground. Small stride, puts himself in an athletic position at footstrike. Smooth weight transfer. Hands stay inside the baseball. Will hit the ball to all fields. Defensively, took reps behind the plate. Recorded a velo of 65 MPH and pop times ranged from 2.25-2.32 seconds. Makes a quick transfer away from his body at midsection height. Stays in line with his target. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. 


Futures Preview North ( June 3, 2017)
Big Frame at 5-foot-10, 195-pounds. Showcased as a catcher and first basemen. In his 60-yard dash he ran a 9.10 second dash. Behind the plate defensively he had a throwing velocity of 62 MPH. He batted with a balanced stance with the weight evenly distributed between his legs. Had an uphill swing which produced an exit velocity of 76 MPH.
