2019 Preseason All State showcase

Quinnipiac recruit. Zimbardo has a lean and athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.20 seconds and recorded an exit velo of 85 MPH. At the plate starts in an athletic stance with his knees bent and feet slightly open. Weight is slowly shifted onto his frontside. Moves his hands down and back during his load. Small stride. Drove the ball to all fields, clear gap-to-gap power. Recorded a velo of 89 MPH from the outfield. Stays athletic with an under control approach to the ball. Creates momentum with a strong crow hop before making throws. On the mound, starts with his knees bent and feet facing the third base line. Has a quick second half of his delivery. Backside engaged early, rides it down the mound. Stride direction stays in line. Long, loose, clean arm action. High 3/4 arm slot. Fastball gets on you, clearly has late life. FB sat 86-87 MPH, touching 88 MPH. CB had smaller, tighter shape at 72-73 MPH. Changeup was impressive, no arm speed change, late run and sink. CH was 80-81 MPH.  



Zimbardo has a wiry and athletic build at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.00 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 83 MPH. Starts at the plate in a tall and open stance. Hands begin above shoulder height, creating pre-swing rhythm. Low, hanging leg kick. Hands move down and back during his load. Easy bat speed, consistently strong contact. Impressive BP round, easy gap-to-gap power. Took defensive reps in the outfield, recorded a velo of 77 MPH. Stays athletic in his approach to the ball, does not break his momentum. Consistently on-line throws. On the mound, starts with his feet wide towards the first base side of the rubber. Pitches with rhythm and tempo. Long, loose, clean arm action. 3/4 arm slot. Slight uphill shoulder tilt as he goes down the mound. Gets over his front side at release. Fastball was 79-81 MPH, touching 84 MPH. FB was consistently down in the zone. Curveball showed 11/5 shape at 64-65 MPH. Changeup had run and fade at 71-72 MPH.

Zimbardo has a lean and athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.38 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 83 MPH. Starts at the plate in an open stance. Hands begin high, above shoulder height and close to his body. Big, inverted leg kick. Creates pre-swing rhythm. Hands move down then back as he loads. Swings with controlled aggression. Present barrel awareness and bat speed. Gap-to-gap power with plenty of line drives. High, one-handed finish. Defensively, took reps in the outfield and recorded top velo of 88 MPH, which was one of the best positional velo’s of the day. Approached the ball under control while maintaining momentum towards his target. His throws from the outfield had significant carry. On the mound, starts with his feet wide and facing the plate. Engages his backside on time and rides it down the mound. Slight uphill shoulder tilt. Soft front leg. Long, loose arm action. True 3/4 arm slot. Throws with intent and conviction. Fastball touched 86 MPH and sat 84-85 MPH. FB showed life and was thrown to both sides of the plate. Curveball had sweeping action through the zone at 69-71 MPH. At times, CB showed swing and miss potential out of the zone. Changeup showed late fade at 72-74 MPH.
