Vaughn is a lean 5-foot-11, 145 pound dual from Northern Burlington who ran a 7.52 60 yard dash.  Vaughn swung from the right side and recorded and exit velocity of 75 MPH.  Vaughn starts with a slight open stance with knee bend.  Hands start slightly off the right shoulder.  Uses minimal bat movement to create slight rhythm prior to load.  Minimal hand movement on load with a slight wrap.  Uses a toe tap as timing mechanism before advancing his hands.  Generates power through hips while creating extension with hands through zone.  Creates lift with hand path as swing is slightly uphill.  Defensively Vaughn threw 75 MPH from SS.  Vaughn attacks the ball to cut distance down while staying low to the ground.  Fields ball out in front and funnels ball to the belt before separating hands.  Shows short quick heel-to-heel footwork to stay in line to 1B while throwing form a high ¾ arm slot. On the mound Vaughn’s Max FB was 79 MPH while sitting 77-79 MPH.  Hand movement created to generate rhythm throughout wind-up.  High leg kick before gathering into back side and committing to the plate.  Foot strike is slightly closed with slight tilt in shoulders.  Creates leverage over strong front side while falling off slightly to the 3B side.  Curveball sat 66-68 MPH and showed 12/6 shape that showed ability to consistently drop in at the bottom 1/3 of the strike zone.  Change-up showed run at 72-73 MPH.
