Begins in balanced crouched  stance, has a smooth load and uses a short stride just before his swing. Exhibited electric bat speed, as well as a level swing plane and a high finish. In the infield, showed an ability to throw across the field at 78 mph; showed raw hands. Used a side slot with a loose arm action. During the event, he clocked a 60 time of 7.42. On the mound, where he showed quick arm speed to the plate, he used a ¾ arm angle and a short arm action. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. 11/5 curveball at 72-75 had some depth and strikeout pitch projection. His fastball was 84-85 mph. One of the top overall pitchers from the event. Gray has a lanky and athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. Starts tall on the mound with his feet spread apart and only his right foot on the rubber. Long arm action. 3/4 arm slot. Throws with rhythm throughout. Creates an angle between his upper and lower half. Lands sightly open at foot strike. Downhill shoulder tilt. Fastball sat 79-81 MPH and topped at 81 MPH. Curveball showed short 11/5 shape at 69-71 MPH. Changeup displayed both run and fade at 69-70 MPH.
