Compact and athletic build at 5-foot-10, 175-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.76 seconds to go with a top exit velo of 86 MPH. Wide and strong base in his stance. Smooth weight transfer with a small stride. Gets his hands through the zone, contact up the middle of the field. Simple load and approach, direct path to the ball. Behind the plate, recorded a top throwing velo of 74 MPH to go with pop times ranging from 2.07-2.15 seconds. Makes his transfer up by his chest. Keeps his feet in line with his target.
5-foot-9, 165lb physical frame; 7.97 runner in the 60 yard dash. At the plate, Wengryn starts straight up with hands behind the ear. Loads with a small stride forward and minimal movement in the upper body, shoots the hands directly to the ball with a middle/oppo approach. Exceptional barrel awareness with the ability to square the ball up easily, posted an 86 MPH max exit velocity. Behind the dish, Wengryn is exceptional at receiving and commanding the zone. Sits deep into his squat but moves well out of it, popping a 2.05-2.15 while delivering the ball to the target accurately. Posted a 72 MPH arm strength from the crouch.
6-foot, 160lb durable frame, strength present. Wengryn works with a repeatable delivery and clean mechanics down the mound. Gets out to the front foot and does not try to over throw. Throws from a low 3/4 slot with good arm speed through release. Holds the fastball 72-75 MPH with command in all parts of the zone. Flashes a curveball at 64-66 MPH with slight side to side action, nearly making it a slider but still an exceptional secondary pitch. Wraps up the arsenal with a changeup at 64-67 MPH that runs well off the fastball with a bit of fade to the arm side as it approaches the zone.
