2019 Preseason All State showcase
Del Valle has a strong and physical frame at 6-foot-6, 240-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 8.45 seconds and recorded an exit velo of 86 MPH. Offensively, starts in a wide stance with his feet inverted and knees bent. Shows a bat wrap in his load. Small leg kick. Showed off some pullside power from the right side using his imposing frame. Similar set up as a lefty, just with a longer stroke. Advanced feel for the barrel from both sides of the plate. Took defensive reps in the infield and recorded a top velo of 77 MPH. Gets into a fielding position early and stays down on the ball. Showed proper footwork and good spins to get rid of the ball. On the mound, starts on the left side of the rubber. Long, loose, clean arm action. Engages his backside on time and efficiently as he gets down the slope. Throws with intent and conviction. Gets downhill on his FB, will make it very hard for hitters to pickup. CB showed 11/5 shape with sharp, late break. FB sat at 84-86 MPH. CB was 70-71 MPH.
