Hammer has a strong, projectable build at 6-foot-1 175-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.81 seconds, recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH. At the plate, starts in a tall, slightly opened stance with hands just above back shoulder and bat perpendicular with the ground. As pitch comes in, uses a foot stride to start swing, hands load down and back. Smooth swing with hands and hips through the zone, feel for the barrel already as a 2020. Peppered the gaps with line drives. Defensively, took reps at first base. Recorded throws that topped at 83 MPH across the infield. Smooth footwork on double play feeds, plays through throws toward second base with momentum. Throws were located on the bag at chest height. On the mound, fastball topped at 82 MPH, sat mostly 80-81. Flashed a curveball at 60-61 with 11/5 shape. One of the top 2020s in the state after a successful freshman campaign on the varsity squad at Washington Township, expect Hammer's stock to continue to increase as he gets stronger.
