Gonzalez has a strong, broad-shouldered build at 6-foot, 198-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 81 MPH. The lefty starts at the plate with his feet even and narrow, along with knees slightly inverted. Hands begin just above shoulder height, near his body. Uses a toe tap and big stride. Hands stay locked in position during his load. Completely clears his hips, definite power potential. Controlled aggression. Creates pre-pitch rhythm. Took defensive reps at first base and recorded a top velo of 70 MPH on his throws. Footwork is smooth. No wasted movements in his transfer of the ball. On the mound, feet are towards the third base side of the rubber and angled towards the first base line. Long arm action and delivers from over-the-top. Slight uphill shoulder tilt as he descends the mound. Stride direction in line. Feet are even from the stretch and he maintains his same leg kick. Fastball sat 70-72 MPH and topped at 72 MPH. FB showed downhill angle. Curveball displayed sweeping 1/7 action at 59-62 MPH. Changeup had both run and fade at 67-68 MPH.
