Physical- Lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 150lbs frame. 7.26 runner in the 60.
Offensively- Open stance with feet shoulder width apart and some bend in the knees. Bat is upright with the hands in front of the back shoulder. Rocks back to load into the back hip with a small stride to initiate the swing, Loads his hands back and gets them working directly to the zone. Handles the inside pitch well with a flatter bat path, pulling the hands in and getting the barrel out in front. High, two handed finish on the swing, 72 MPH max exit velo.
Defensively- Starts in a traditional catcher’s setup with a wider base and some slight offset. Presents a low target to throw to, working up to receive the ball. Uses the back leg to drive out of the crouch, gets the ball out of the glove quickly and showed an accurate throwing arm. Moderate take back with a high ¾ arm slot. 2.34-2.36 pop time, 68 MPH arm strength from the crouch.
