Philadelphia University recruit. Sawyer has a lean and athletic build at 5-foot-9, 160-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.68 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 89 MPH, one of the tops of the event. The right handed hitter begins in an open stance with his knees bent in an athletic position. Hands start just above shoulder height and create pre-swing rhythm. Small, powerful leg kick. Swings with controlled aggression. Gets off his backside efficiently. Impressive BP round, sprayed line drives and showed gap-to-gap power potential. High finish. Defensively, he took reps in the outfield and recorded a top velo of 86 MPH, also one of the tops at the event. Puts his feet in the proper position to make strong and accurate throws to bases. Transferred the ball away from his body at midsection height. Throws showed carry. Long, smooth arm action a 3/4 arm slot.

At the plate, starts in a tall, narrow stance with hands high above back shoulder. Uses a leg lift and stride to start swing. Hands stay stagnant throughout. Creates extension in hands and arms in swing. Balanced, athletic finish with lift. From the outfield, throws topped at 86 MPH. Short, quick arm action with carry on release. High-3/4 slot.
