Tyler Phillips is 6-4, long and athletic. He still has room to add strength and has the potential for a plus-plus fastball. The frame combined with the thought that, by age, he could technically be a 2016, makes him arguably the most projectable arm in New Jersey's 2015 class.

The athletic righty has simple, repeatable mechanics; utilizing a traditional leg kick and direction-based mechanics. He has plus-plus arm speed with an elbow climb arm action that is in a cocked position at foot strike. Being an athletic pitcher, Phillips creates great hip-shoulder separation without getting rotational mechanically.

He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot, working his fastball at 86-91 MPH with deceptive late life down in the zone. His fastball also gives a "rising" perception when he can locate his fastball just above the hitter's hands. His best off-speed offering is his CH. He throws it with great arm speed and it has diving action late in its flight. His curveball has 11/5 action with average spin at 72-74. As he matures and gets more innings, he should learn how to really spin the baseball using his above average arm and hand speed.
