Athletic 6-foot-0 160 pounds with a frame that has plenty of room to fill out. Mele ran an above average 6.93 60 for his position. Offensively- Slightly spread stance; hands work straight back as he incorporates a bit of leg kick. Stays behind the ball well and is aggressive with lower half. Line drive results with an exit velocity of 81 MPH. Defensively- Strong armed catcher with a peak velocity of 76 MPH out of the crouch. Quick exchange with plenty of carry; pop times ranged between 1.94-2.04. There is even more room for improvement here as his setup becomes more athletic and footwork more efficient. Definite follow behind the plate.
