2019 Preseason All State showcase

Rappa has a lean and athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 165-pounds. Sets up with his feet facing on the plate towards the first base side of the rubber. Long, loose arm action. Comes at you from a high 3/4 arm slot. Strong backside, is able to ride it down the mound. Keeps a low frontside. From the windup, creates deception with a pause in his delivery. Stride direction in line at footstrike. Fastball was consistently at the bottom of the zone at 80-82 MPH. Changeup had significant run at 72-73 MPH. Curveball showed near 12/6 shape with a tendency to back up on him at times. 



Rappa has a lean and athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds. Starts tall on the mound, with his feet angled towards the third base line and on the first base side of the rubber. Keeps his hands at chest height throughout his delivery. Engages his backside early and efficiently. Even shoulder tilt as he goes down the mound. Lands with a soft front side. Falls off slightly towards the first base side. Has a long, loose arm action. Maintains rhythm and tempo. Fastball sat at 78-79 MPH and topped at 81 MPH. Curveball showed 11/5 shape and was consistently in the zone at 64-66 MPH. Changeup displayed late fade in the zone at 67-68 MPH.

Rappa has a lean and athletic build at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.50 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 88 MPH. At the plate, begins in a slightly open stance. Hands start above shoulder height, away from his body. Elbow begins parallel to the ground. Small load involves hands going slightly down and back. Small stride, stays on time. Hands extend through the zone. Shows ability to consistently produce line drives. Defensively, took reps as an outfielder. Recorded a velo of 83 MPH. Fielded the ball in stride and did not stop his momentum. Transfers the baseball near his chest. Uses a crow hop and delivers strong throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and long, loose arm action. On the mound, begins in line with home plate. Hands begin high, around chest height, and they stay there during the delivery. Long, clean arm action. High 3/4 arm slot. High leg kick. Engages his backside and is able to get downhill. In the stretch, starts tall and slightly closed. Fastball topped at 82 MPH and sat 80-82 MPH. Curveball showed 11/5 shape and was consistently down in the zone at 68-72 MPH. Changeup displayed fade at 68-71 MPH.
