Will Schaffer, LHP, Summit High School, Jersey Boyz, 2017
6/14/15 -- Schaffer is a 6-foot-1 left-handed pitcher with slow tempo mechanics and plus arm speed. Coming out of the bullpen, Schaffer was largely 82-85 with his fastball showing a curveball at 70-72 miles-per-hour. He showed solid fastball command but command of his secondary pitch is inconsistent at this point. Schaffer will be one to watch over the next two years.
3/15/16 - With a fastball already up to 88 MPH, Schaffer is a live-armed lefty with a great arsenal.  A stellar student (34 ACT), Schaffer understands how to manage a game and keep hitters off balance.  He commands his fastball well to both sides of the plate, and is developing better command of his curveball and change-up.  Another dual-sport athlete, Schaffer’s athleticism gives reason to believe that there is more velocity in the tank, and that he will be able to develop solid secondary offerings in no time.
