Matthew Cook, a 2027 corner infielder and right-handed pitcher from Rio Rancho High School, delivered one of the top performances on Saturday’s workout, showcasing elite bat speed that generated an impressive 98.6 mph exit velocity and a max distance of 350 feet. Defensively, Cook demonstrated solid glove work with an 82 mph arm across the infield. He carried this success into Sunday’s gameplay, ripping a hard shot down the left field line for a hit. On the mound, Cook continued to stand out, sitting comfortably at 83-86 mph with his fastball and mixing in a breaking ball at 67-69 mph. Cook’s all-around skill set and power make him an exciting prospect in the 2027 class.
