2/17/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot 145-pound prospect with a long, projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Showed long levers and a projectable frame. Threw from a ¾ arm slot and shifts his hips/center of mass well. Moves well throughout his whole delivery. Overall, a clean, athletic delivery.
Fastball: 76-78 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone with some fading action at times.
Curveball: 58-63 mph breaking ball showed a curveball shape and spin but minimal bite and depth. Developing pitch.
Changeup: 68-69 mph changeup showed some tumbling downward depth, and he maintained good arm speed on the pitch.
Pitchability: Pretty good feel for his three pitch mix. The fastball command could improve and the curveball needs to be refined. Changeup shows some potential.
Role: Overall, good athlete who moves dynamically on the mound. Secondary pitches and overall command need to be refined, but as a 2022 grad he shows good raw physical abilities and will be a guy to follow as he develops physically and irons out some technical issues.
2/17/19 Position
Body Type: 6-foot 145-pound prospect with a long, projectable frame.
Swing Mechanics: Starts his swing and load with a leg kick and compact hands. Barrel stays in the zone well and shows a somewhat flat bat path.
Hit: Solid bat to ball ability with a mostly line drive approach.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Presently shows power potential for a 2022. At worst will have the potential to be a gap to gap guy. Swing might limit his power numbers because of how flat the bat path presently is.
Run: 4.94 home to 1st.
Field: At 3B he waits on the ball a bit too much and has a slower release than desired. Showed good footwork with pretty good hands. Doesn’t take great angles to the ball.
Throw: 79 mph across the diamond.
Defensive Projection: Presently shows enough raw tools to play 3B at the high school level. Probably projects more as a corner OF guy at the next level.
