Prep Baseball Ohio identifies, evaluates, and promotes the best high school baseball talent in the state. Our interns don't shadow. They work. You'll be on fields, behind cages, and inside the systems that power modern amateur scouting. Every role below is a real seat at the table, and every role is a paid position.

Showcase Operations & Scouting Intern
Winter · January through March
Winter is where the scouting calendar starts. Our indoor showcase season puts hundreds of players in front of our staff, and this role puts you in the middle of it.
What You'll Do
- Help run indoor showcases end to end: setup, player check-in, station flow, and teardown
- Evaluate talent alongside our scouting staff and learn how a professional eye breaks down a player
- Contribute observations directly into our scouting systems, where they become part of a player's permanent record
The Schedule, Honestly
Weekends are the job. Showcase days are long, and you'll feel them. Expect some weekday work as well. If a 10-hour Saturday around baseball sounds like a good Saturday, you're our kind of candidate.
What You'll Walk Away With
Reps evaluating real prospects, a working knowledge of how showcase data is captured and turned into published scouting content, and relationships with a staff that scouts year-round.
High School Scouting / Game Coverage Intern
Spring · March through early June
When the high school season starts, Ohio's best players are spread across hundreds of diamonds. This role puts you at the games that matter.
What You'll Do
- Cover assigned high school games and represent Prep on social media in real time
- Evaluate players live and file reports through our scouting platform
- Build relationships with coaches and collect roster, lineup, and player information that feeds our statewide coverage
- Flag prospects who deserve a longer look from our full-time staff
Who Thrives Here
Someone who can watch a game and see the players, not just the score, and who can turn what they see into clean, fast content. A car and a willingness to drive to games are essential.
What You'll Walk Away With
A published body of scouting and coverage work, a coach network of your own, and evaluation reps against live competition, the hardest and most valuable kind.
Event Operations & Scouting Intern
Summer · June through August
Summer is our biggest season, with showcases, tournaments, and games stacked across the state. This role puts you on both sides of it: running the events and evaluating the players in them.
What You'll Do
- Run point on event-day logistics: registration, rosters, jersey assignment, field and station management
- Evaluate talent at showcases and tournaments alongside our scouting staff, filing observations through our scouting systems
- Support data capture at events, gathering the measurements and observations that become part of a player's permanent record
- Solve problems in real time when 150+ players, parents, and coaches are on site
- Work directly with our operations and scouting staff across the full event calendar

Tournament Scouting Intern
The Spring, Summer, and Fall are our biggest seasons, with tournaments stacked across the state. This role puts you in the field to scout games, promote players through social media, and oversee operations of the field.
What You'll Do
- Run point at the field on tournament days-days: communicate with coaches, scout games and promote players through our social media channels
- Evaluate talent alongside our scouting staff, filing observations through our scouting systems
- Capture data for pitchers, gathering the measurements and observations that become part of a player's permanent record
- Solve problems in real time with players, parents, and coaches on site
- Work directly with our tournament operations and scouting staff
Who Thrives Here
Someone who can manage a field, talk with any coach or parent, and still keep an eye on the game in front of them. You stay calm when schedules shift and problems pop up, and you know enough baseball to see what a pitcher is doing, not just the radar reading.

Creative content/Social Media Intern
Winter · January - March, Summer · June - August
Every event we run has a story: the atmosphere, the standout performances, the moments that make a showcase worth being at. This role tells it, capturing each event through creative content that brings it to life on our social channels for players, parents, and coaches who couldn't be there.
What You'll Do
- Capture photos and videos throughout each event: player performances, big moments, branding, and the energy of the day
- Edit short-form content for Instagram, X, and TikTok, posting in real time so followers can experience the event as it happens
- Create event recap content that tells the full story once the last player leaves the field
- Design graphics that promote upcoming events and highlight standout performers
- Write captions and copy that sound like baseball, not a press release
Who Thrives Here
Someone who's always framing the shot and can turn raw footage into something that tells the story and highlights the benefits. Experience with Premiere, CapCut, Photoshop, or Canva is a plus. A portfolio matters more than a resume.

A published body of photo, video, and design work tied to a known baseball brand, real reps producing content on deadline, and a portfolio that shows you can do the job, not just talk about it.
Baseball Journalist Assistant
We are seeking qualified journalism students. It is required that the candidates have strong writing and compositional skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and a strong understanding of the game of baseball.
What You'll Do
- Write feature stories to be posted on the website
- Provide administrative assistance, including but not limited to data entry and web research.
- Potentially cover games and events, composing scouting recap stories
Who Thrives Here
A strong writer who knows the game and can turn a player's story into something worth reading. You're detail-oriented enough to handle data entry and research without cutting corners, and ready to head to a ballpark when a game needs coverage.
