2/17/19

2/17/19 Position

Body Type: 5-foot-8 145-pound prospect.

Swing Mechanics: Starts in a narrow setup and uses a front hip hinge to start his load. Casts his barrel completely around the zone with an uphill bath. Stays balanced throughout.

Hit: Average bat to ball ability.

Power: 76 mph exit velocity.

Offensive Projection: Would need to clean up his swing to give himself a better shot at the next level. Shows some solid athleticism through his swing but his bat path creates some holes in his swing.

Field: 2.20-2.28 pop time. Behind the plate he showed minimal footwork and a below average exchange, but still did show a naturally quick arm. In the outfield he was aggressive and played through the ball well with average footwork. At 3B he was very two handed with his approach and didn’t take good angles through the ball, but he still did show a quick arm and throws that had a little carry.

Throw: 73 mph across the diamond, behind the plate, and from the outfield.

Run: 4.97 home to first.

Defensive Projection: Although he may presently show the most polish as an outfielder, his best fit at the next level may end up being behind the plate. From a fundamental standpoint behind the plate he has a lot of work to do, but he does show some of the raw skills you look for in a catcher at the next level.
