Braden Broom: SS/2B, (2022) GlenOak, OH. 5-foot-11, 140-pound slim frame. Capable during batting practice, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. Begins in a tall open stance with a smooth slow load, then uses a short stride. Has a level swing plane and efficient bat speed. Found some barrels in his round. Athletic in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 73 mph; has soft hands, athletic quick feet, and a quick clean exchange. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.75.
2/4/18 5-foot-5, 110 pound catcher. Good transfer getting the ball out quickly. His footwork was decent but can be improved by becoming more explosive and maintaining momentum towards second base. That will lead to stronger, more accurate throws as well as decreasing his pop time from the 2.40 he posted. Broom offensively he starts from a closed stance. Produces a level path that sent several line drives back through the middle with average power at a 76 mph exit velocity. He creates good separation in his swing aided by his ability to use his lower half well. Expect abilities to increase as he grows over the next couple years.
