Body type: 5-foot-8, 160-pound compact frame.
Swing mechanics: Small leg kick and a little handsy from the left side. Simple and smooth load from the right side.
Hit: Downhill bat path to the pull side with ground ball potential from the left side. Level bat path with natural flight to the middle from the right side.
Power: Line drive guy with more to come from both sisde of the plate as he develops physically.
Offensive projection: Top of the lineup guy.
Field: Open stance with a smooth transfer behind the dish. Quick actions.
Throw: Very accurate throws to second base with a consistent release point. Developing arm strength.
Defensive Projection: Catcher.
Additional Notes: Blocks the baseball very well. Receiving skills are still developing.
2/17/19 Position
Body Type: 5-foot-7 150-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Switch hitter. From the right side he has a balanced, medium stance and uses a toe tap load. Shows a slight cast of the barrel with a flat bat path. From the left side he shows mostly the same swing but with less bat speed and he seems to cast his barrel a bit more.
Hit: Good bat to ball ability from both sides of the plate.
Power: R: 79 mph exit velocity. L: 76 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Shows some potential at the plate. Presently shows more potential from the right side of the plate which is concerning for a switch hitter considering a majority of his at bats would be as a left handed hitter.
Field: 2.17-2.33 pop time. Behind the plate he showed quick feet and a smooth exchange with an average arm. In the infield he showed minimal angles through the ball with average footwork and hands. Slow release.
Throw: 70 mph from behind the plate. 69 mph across the diamond.
Run: 4.79 home to first.
Defensive Projection: Presently would project better as a C at the next level, but would need to work on improving raw arm strength.
