Hit: Physical presence in the box. Aggressive hacks. Dives into contact with lower half. Very efficient path with noticeable speed/ strength to hands. Power: Ball jumps when squared. Some of the most raw power we saw from the Canes. Offensive Projection: Run Producer. Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 87.5 Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 332 Field: At 3B shows average footwork but good hands and a quick arm. Throws had carry. Defensive Projection: Corner IF
1/20/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Has a long, whippy arm action through a ¾ arm slot. Fastball: Fastball was 75-78 mph and showed some cutting action at times. Fastball Spin Rate: 1700-2000 Curveball: Breaking ball was showing slider type spin at 67-68 mph with minimal action. Curveball Spin Rate: 2000-2300 Changeup: Changeup was 65-68 mph with depth at times. Pitchability: Average feel for a three pitch mix.
1/21/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot 240-pound prospect.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a high ¾ arm slot with a ‘drop and drive’ look to his delivery.
Fastball: 74-78 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone with some sink at times.
Curveball: 63-66 mph breaking ball showed some decent depth and the shape of a true overhand curve.
Pitchability: Good feel for both pitches in his two pitch mix. Role: Being a two pitch guy probably would push him into more of a bullpen type role.
1/21/19 Body Type: Very physical, middle of lineup build.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance, double tap timing trigger with vertical barrel launch.
Hit: Aggressive stroke with natural loft. Loose whippy hands allow for early bat speed and easy whip. All fields hitter with big time juice for class.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity. His advanced strength and ability to lift the baseball make him an ideal middle of the lineup candidate. Really got into baseballs during BP. Ball jumps off barrel. Strength is real.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer/Middle of lineup.
Run: 8.01 60-yard dash.
Field: Solid showing in bullpens. Needs some refinement but athletic enough to do so. Arm plays back there and you could see him being a sub 2.0 guy as feet speed up.
Throw: 2.09-2.15 pop times w/75 mph arm strength to second base.
Defensive Projection: C/1B.
Additional Comments: It was our first time seeing Christian and he really looked the part at the plate. Very physical hitter that projects for legitimate power.
