2025 Ontario Future Games Trials
‘27 RHP/3B Richard Marshall is one of the more intriguing arms in Ontario’s 2027 class and posted the top FB velocity in the class at the FG Trials as he was up to 88mph. Strength in the frame and lower-half at 6-foot-1, 200-pounds and uses it to generate FB velocity in the 86-87 T88 range and there’s feel for a short, tight slider at 73-75mph (-2.2” IVB/-5.8” HM) that he was able to land for strikes. The Ontario Yankees right-hander also featured a changeup at 79-80mph and cutter at 75-79mph. The strength carried over to the positional side where he had a 99.9mph exit velo (91.9 avg), 330ft distance, was up to 90mph on the infield (event best) and ran a 4.09 30-yard dash. A name college coaches need to know in Ontario’s 2027 class as the summer approaches.

2024 Holiday Hitters Showcase Durham
While Marshall possesses more upside on the mound, there’s plenty of impact in the bat and he flashed that on Tuesday night. Physical frame with strong lower-half at 6-foot-1, 200-pounds and was getting the barrel on-plane all night with great length after contact. His peak exit velocity of 98.1mph and average of 86mph were both top-five among his class. Marshall has the ability to impact a game on the mound or with the bat, maybe better than anyone in the class. Fun watch going forward as his recruitment will open up on August 1st.

9/14/24

2024 Ontario Yankees Scout Day
Marshall flashed impact-type stuff on the mound Friday night as he touched 85.7mph on the mound and followed it up with a strong showing on the positional side Saturday. Strong, physical frame at 6-foot-1, 200-pounds and filled up the zone with a fastball, cutter, slider combination. The fastball sat 82-85mph, along with the cutter at 75-77mph and slider at 71-72mph. Marshall features some of the better pure arm talent in the class and will be an interesting follow as he continues to refine the secondary stuff. At the plate his physicality was evident as he was punishing baseballs to the pullside with a peak exit velocity of 94.1mph (82.1 avg) and peak distance of 317ft (276 avg). An arm our staff is excited to get a look outdoors in live-game action.
